A trip on a cruise with pets.
Hey everyone, I’m new to this forum. I live in Morningside Heights, Toronto. I am planning to visit Mackinac Island. Heard that the island is a special destination and it's a good place to visit. I think this is the perfect time to visit the island. I have 2 dogs Buffy and Carrey.
I would like to take them with me. I don’t want to put my pets in cargo. Has anyone taken pets on a cruise? What precautions should I take ? Are there any formalities? ADMIN's note - Cruise ship Link was removed. Please, no promo of any kind. Last edited by marko; July 29th, 2016 at 10:56 AM. |

Hello I heard that a bag crate is suitable for the travelers for having the dog to their side while their travels. You can buy it to amazon or any online pet store and you can choose what best for your dog, good luck on your travel.

The cruise company should have some information about what they require as far as containment on the ship and maybe even some tips about precautions while you're on the island. You should probably also check with authorities on the island to see what they suggest.
Sounds like a fun trip!

You better check with a travel agent to see if you can even bring a pet to the island . I have a niece that lived in Hawaii for awhile and wanted to bring her cat too, her cat had to be quarantine for 6 months I think before it was allowed to be with my niece.
