Glad to hear your weekend is going well, BenMax. Maddox knows he is now loved and I am sure going to be such a fighter to get past these horrid parasites.

That is wonderful of you 14+

I think the money you made at the garage sale is great ! for a garage sale , it's a success !

your comment about telling the lady why you were having this sale made me think .... people should know why you're having those sales. Maybe a poster with Maddox's picture , and a link to the rescue website , and explanation as to where the money is going ..... maybe that would get people to give more , not only buy but also give

maybe they wouldn't ask for bargain and just pay the asking price.

All your hard work has not been in vain , look at the money you have found for Maddox's care , I think it's awesome mf !!!

We have a big banner up and newsletters that we hand out. We greet everyone with kindness and explain to them why we are having a garage sale. I cannot tell you Frenchy how people do not care as to why we are doing this nor do they care that it is for animals in need. They want a deal and some will fight to save a dollar. But in saying this, there have also been those that make very generous donations as well. So for every penny we loose, we gain through someone else's generosity.

On a side note..I was questioned as to why I was trying to save a dog...afterall it is just a dog... Gotta love those ones.

Cool ! I didn't know

I never understood why people would bargain at a garage sale. It's already so cheap

Blah! It's amazing how insensitive some people can be. Regardless if they agree with a cause or not, they have to open their mouths anyway...

Love the fact that he is going on short walks with you. That is wonderful.

No matter how long you have with him you are showing him the love he has always deserved. to you and to him.

Ok folks...... seeing as the planned comp caper didn't come off how be we raise some Moolah for Maddox? I would be willing to act as the go between to collect the moolah and send it on to BM. That is unless you want a tax receipt. Then you can go directly to Gerdy's site and donate from there. PM me if interested.
OOps I have already sent my cheque to Gerdy's. But I did put on the cheque and in the letter it was for Maddox's heartworm treatment.

Seeing as the dog sleds aren't running at full speed outta here yet, not enough snow... *G* it will take at least a week to get to Gerdy's.

BM, give Maddox a hug from me and here's one for you. You are terrific!!!

Maddox had a great weekend. Full of beans but I am trying to keep him as quiet as possible. The walks are very very short and he loves to go on little excursions outside. He does not understand why he cannot but I have provided him with lots of toys to keep him busy.

On Wednesday we have another appointment to follow up. Things are looking good for Maddox though we are not out of the woods just yet.

Thank you for your good wishes. It is so heartwarming to know that people really do care.

I'm guessing that if he's doing this well so far then he's got an excellent chance of getting through this.

Wonderful wonderful news

Just so that you all know, Maddox had another blood test last week. The great news is that Maddox has made it!!! His organs are in perfect working order, his lungs are clear and his heart is doing exceptionally well. He started his heart worm prevention as of last night!

Maddox must however stay as quiet as possible for the next few months. I truly believe he knows that he is safe and we are doing everything possible to help him recover. His leg remains still in need of repair which will be addressed in a few months.

Maddox is a new dog. He has a new leash on life and he continues to thrive. I cannot tell you how much his character has changed. He has become confident, playful (though we need to keep this in check), protective and walking him now is a little more challenging (which we are going to work on gradually). He is what a GSD should be now. Full of life, exhuberance and playfulness. He is just not the same dog at all - he now has LIFE.

I agree, AG, we need to see the new Maddox.

I am so happy, BenMax. I hope he lives many, many more years of carefree living.

Kudos to you for saving his life.
