He is still limping but happier than a lark to be going "out" again.

The calmness will likely disappear come Monday when his walks get extended and we start going by the first lot of houses that have cats and dogs.

Sounds like improvement is slow, but sure this time!

Chase--you be good and listen to your mommy, now!

I just thought I would ressurect this thread again in case someone is looking up TPLO operations. Although most of the time dogs heal well and never have further problems this is one of the exceptions.

Chase is going for yet another operation tomorrow. This one is for a meniscus tear on the first (right side) leg that was done.....the one that didn't have the complications that the left leg did.

I will update again after he comes home.

Thank you Chico and L4H

Hubby and Chase left at 4:30am this morning so should he should be getting prepped now. Of course, it was raining pretty good when they left so hope the mountain passes weren't too bad.

I'll update later after I talk to the vet.

The vet removed 40% of the meniscus in his right knee. And, at just over 3 years old, he has arthritis damage already.

He said to continue with the glucosamine/chondrioitin supplements but recommended Glycoflex which has green lipped mussel in it. I will be scouring the internet again to see what else I can find out.

40% Poor Chase. I'm sorry there was so much damage, rainbow

I've never heard of green lipped mussel. Is that something new?

Thank you, Chico.

I just hope that this is the last time as the last couple of years have been so hard having to keep Chase and Logan apart. The poor guy hasn't had much of a puppyhood.

I'm sure they'll be making up for lost time, now, rainbow! And being older, wiser and a bit more mature, maybe they won't play quite as rough.

How is he doing? Mind you, I have a lot of board left to catch up on, so if you've already updated somewhere else, just ignore that question...I'll run across the answer elsewhere.
