Anyone from 'Stoon?

I may move there in the fall. It seems very dog-friendly, and I'd just like to know from the locals what it's really like there - for both species.
THx in advance.

I'm not living there...yet! But it has tons of dog parks, we've only checked out 2 so far. Pet Planet is an awesome store for buying food and other good stuff. I really like the people who own it. When I go there it's to stock up so I usually spend over a hundred and they always throw in a little cat toy and some extra goodies for Bayley. There's also an indoor dog park and I think a pool for dogs. I really want to try that out.

I found that people are for the most part really friendly..but coming from Ontario, everybody here seems friendlier!! The Chinese buffet on 22nd Street is really good too. (for the people stuff) I really like Saskatoon, this year I have to go to the zoo/park. May have to spend a weekend and really check it out. So far our trips have been more of a dash in, load up on groceries and dog and cat food and go home. I love the fact that it's easy to get around and there's lots of shopping, which I found surprising cause it's really not that big a city.

But if you move, maybe it would be fun to do the odd dog play date, and if we manage to find a place that we can afford and move there too, that would be cool

Yup, moved to Alsask, right on the border..we can walk to Alberta But I want to move closer to 'toon for the jobs. I find the weather in this part of the province to be alot calmer than down south...and I'm not too keen on rattlesnakes and floods!! So far up here, the weather has been pretty much tame from what I was expecting. (Shhhh, hope the weather gods don't see this!!)

I live in Saskatchewan. Lived in S'toon until I moved a year and a half ago. I'm now a couple hours away.

I agree Pet Planet is a great store. They also have a dog's only pool called Water Paws in the south end of the city.

You want to make sure if you let your dog off leash in Saskatoon that you do so only in the off leash parks (which there is quite a few). They are out just waiting to give tickets to ppl to who let their dogs run off leash.

Great place to live overall.

Cool!
Can you let your dog run in the river? Scruffy LOVES the river and it's great for tiring him out.
