For Scuba or anyone else having a hard time.

Couldn't help but notice a few people having some ruff times lately and brought this poem to mind.

Yesterday... Today... and Tomorrow

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry,
two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is Yesterday with its mistakes and cares,
its faults and blunders, its aches and pains.
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.

All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday.
We cannot undo a single act we performed;
we cannot erase a single word said.
Yesterday is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow with its possible adversities,
its burdens, its large promise and poor performance.
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.

Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds - but it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.

This leaves only one day - Today.
Any man can fight the battles of just one day;
it is only when you or I add the burdens of those two awful eternities - Yesterday - and Tomorrow - that we break down.

It is not the experience of Today that drives men mad -
it is the remorse or bitterness for something which happened Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.

Let us, therefore, live but One Day at a Time.

I love that poem.

A friend of mine had it framed and I asked her where she got it. She said her hubby (a reformed alcoholic) was given it a long time ago when he was going to the aa meetings. I always meant to get a copy of it as it definitely relates to more than just alcoholism but never did and now that we've moved I don't see her anymore. :sad:

Thanks for posting it Aslan .....it brought back memories.

Thank you Alsan.

I am feeling much better already today. Just getting the stuff off my chest was a big help. Then today I went online and just bought some bicycle parts. Never realised how therapeutic that can be (shopping), now I look forward to their arrival so that I can start tinkering with my bicycles again.

This is along the same lines, just a whole lot shorter.

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.
That's why it's called the present!!

there is also a prayer in aa or na that may help you out when times are rough

God grant me the serenity,
to accept the things i cannot change,
Courage to change the things i can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
