2 More cats for Marko? - Opinions please

Hi Everyone,

There seems to be a couple of Sphynx kittens (2 sisters 3-4 months old) available for adoption/rescue.

Our history - We already have 2 female sphynxes (age 6 and 13) - that we adopted declawed. In addition, Twiggy has no teeth.
We do have the room in our hearts and home for 2 more.

Our cats Nuda and Twiggy get along just okay - they tolerate each other but not really good buddies because Twiggy isn't too fond of her.

My question is the declawing. We would NOT declaw any cat ever......and these new kittens have their claws.

So will it be an issue to adopt 2 clawed sphynx kittens - with 2 declawed resident cats.

I'd love to hear the opinions - thx in advance

Marko I would made your 2 declared
cat have high place to escape and have their own place to eat. I heard felmale cats don't get along , could you bring something home that smells like kittens and see how your
cats react to it ? When I got Marty home he smelled my jacket and peed on it bc
it smelled like my last dog a male .

Hi Marko,

I think if I were you I'd be trying out those 2 new kittens, and see how they fit into the family. My worry would be with Twiggy. I think with Nuda there would be no problem. But I'd be using the safe room introduction system in this case, whether it be a spare room or a large metal cage I think it would be an easier way to get them used to one another. It will allow Twiggy and Nuda to get used to their scent before they were confronted with the kittens, and it will do the same for the kittens.

My experience with this sort of thing is that one of the older cats will take on mothering one or both of the kittens, and when it comes to worrying about the claws a good pair of clippers, or a grinder used every couple weeks will help to protect Twiggy. Who knows maybe Twiggy my take on mothering the kittens. Wouldn't that be a surprise? Stranger things have happened.

We think you should go for it.

Ha! I have so little experience with introducing cats to cats, but my motto has always been "The More The Merrier", so you know what my vote will be! And we need pics! Lots of 'em, please!

Bummer!! Happy for them, but they would have been happier with you and Carmy, I'm sure!

BOMBER!!! I think I could think of something else I'd rather call it but he dare not. Sorry to hear that you missed out on the kittens.

Now that you have approval from some of us if another opportunity presents itself JUMP ON IT…..
