Enticing Sick Cat to Eat
My cat became very ill with dehydration, massive weight loss and ultimately determined to have liver issues. Because of its illness the vet say that he is nauseous and that is why he isn't eating. We are force feeding him a high calorie food, but I need to get him interested in eating again. He is looking and feeling better but will not eat any dry or wet food introduced to him. What he will eat and goes crazy for is Purina Precious Moments cat treats. Any suggestion on a food that is similar? What is the smell that makes him go crazy for those? Can I feed him those in replacement for food?

I'd go with something a bit higher quality (if possible). When our cats get fussy, we will warm up the wet food slightly, or even add some warm water. They are also a HUGE fan of dehydrated chicken, fish treats - we crumble them on top of the wet food and that gets them motivated to eat.

Has the vet given you anything to stop the nausea?
