Unhappy Sad

Hi everyone,
My 9 month old kitten has just been diagnosed with FIP.
I have no idea how much longer she has to live.

I did purchase her from a breeder and I have the contract in front of me which does say that if the kitten dies of FIP within the first 3 years that I will get a replacement cat.

Has anyone here been through this? Please tell me your story if you have.

So sorry to hear that you and your kitty are going through this. How was the FIP diagnosed? What symptoms does your kitten have?

There have been a few people here that have experienced the heartbreaking death of their cats from FIP, but I don't think they post much anymore. Jowilson002 lost 2 kittens to FIP. Here are some of her threads:

And here are links to websites for 2 of the preeminent veterinary researchers on this subject:

So sorry to hear about your kitty. I don't know anything about FIP, but I wish you all well.

It is a tough disease to diagnose but from the reading I've done, the vet's experience and the tests all point to FIP.
My kitten, Zelda, has had blood tests, x-ray, fluid sample, feces sample..

She had very running eyes,(her eyes seem to be fine now) lethargic, and recently no appetite and swollen belly with fluid in it. She is now very tiny with a very large belly.

Thanks sugarcatmom for the links!
