jiorji, dakotah is only allowed off-leash if he knows all the dogs in the park and everybody's "cool" with one another... on weekends alot of new people pop in and out and if he's on a leash, it's easy to quickly exit the park with him to avoid any trouble (rather than yelling and running after him from faaar away...). he's totally fine with most male dogs BUT sometimes new males will challenge him for top-dog status and then in a flash you have a fight on your hands. i can recognize a dominant dog a mile away by their body language (but still training hubby... sigh) so if one approaches, dakotah is quickly walked out of the park and everything is fine. half the dogs in that park are intact btw... although many neutered dogs try (unwisely!) to jump him. they don't do it twice, LOL!

TD, I've seen her at all times of day really, but deffinately in the evenings. When I met her, I asked how old she was and quickly forgot, but I'm guessing now that she's about 8 months old. A dark grey/brown colour, she looks black as she comes toward you, grey when she's near you and brown as she walks away, it's a really neat colouring. As per where she's from, no idea, next time I see them, I'll have to ask.

Yeah, my neutered male still has something to prove too. I try to remind him that they aren't there anymore. And TRY explaining that to my kids. <sigh> My husband just bluntly told my 8 year old what neutering is. ANYWAY, sorry TD. Beautiful beanies...

Great videos!! That airdale looks like a bully. I'll send Boo over to defend Maika's honor (if he can stop looking for her "him pieces" long enough to do so...).

They are so good looking! I didn't realize quite how big they were until I saw them in relation to the other dogs.

awe chico maybe someday eh? you never know when you might come to montreal for a holiday

maika gets beat up all the time but she's a toughie. she's tall for a keeter girl but very light and cat-like and that seems to make her fair game to many dogs, including annoying airedales, LOL!

That looks like a nice-sized dog park as well! Mine is just too big! The closest one is 20 acres and is wooded and Petey has a horrible recall, so I get nervous going there. The other one that I usually go to is a lot smaller at 3 acres, but still heavily wooded and still big enough that he's easy to lose. He'll come find me eventually, but doesn't stay close by or always come when called as he should. So they're pretty, but not the most practical, lol.

oh man i would give anything to trade, you are sooo lucky! we have to travel at least 30 mins by car to get anywhere decent to let the kids run loose and just "be dogs". fortunately they have a good recall even if their "comfort zone" is wider than i'd like it to be

I'm jealous that you have a reliable recall! I dream of that day. LOL! But that's too bad you have to drive so far. You're a good mommy!
