Foster Kitties - 5 weeks old

Well, soon it will be time that I say good bye to my 8 foster kittens and their mom, Chloe. They are all growing like weeds and always active. It's hard to get good pictures of everyone. Here are some that I took yesterday of the bunch.

#1: Chloe
#2: Bear

The rescue that I volunteer for doesn't have a shelter, we adopt out of our homes. They will be with me until they all find forever homes!

Yes, as soon as the kittens are 8 weeks old and she gets spayed she will be available. She's already had one inquiry (which didn't pan out, unfortunately), so I'm taking that as a good sign she will find a home sooner than later. Chloe is beautiful and has a great personality so she will be a great cat for some lucky person.

Awwww what cutie pies . Would you be terribly upset if momma wasn't ready to be spayed until the kittens were closer to 12 weeks?

We will have to wait until her milk completely dries up, whenever that happens she will be spayed, if it's longer than 8 weeks so be it . When the kittens turn 8 weeks old we will be moving Chloe to another foster home because she doesn't get along with dogs at all and we want to make sure the kittens are introduced to dogs and our other cats so they know it's not something to be scared of. If Chloe were around she would influence them to be afraid of the dogs and we definitely don't want that to happen. We want to make the kittens as adoptable as they can be

That's what I was thinking. I have found that if you allow momma to wean her kittens on her terms, it is normally closer to 10 weeks. At 8 weeks, I find the kittens are nursing just before nap times. The kittens will make much better pets if they have a secure beginning in life.
