Please please please help!

I am leaving a very abusive relationship in a hurry and have to give up my cats. I have to give them up because the friends who are rescuing me are horribly allergic to cats. Please could somebody tell me who I contact on here to rescue my babies or find a home for them quickly?? I can't bare to give them up to humane society.

Thank-you in advance for any direction you can point me in.

First of all I'm sorry to hear of your situation.

Do you have any other friends or family members that would be willing to look after them until you can find your own place again?

Also you will need to post your location for someone to offer other suggestions.

And, good luck.

I picked up a brochure recently at my vets about this sort of situation and they show the following site:

You could also inquire at the OSPCA, I know that they help people that have to go into a shelter and house their animals until they are rehomed. Good Luck.

Not sure where you are but the Humane Society in calgary has a program designated to helping people in your situation. I would certaily ask around the services and support groups in your area, even non-dog related, they might have partner companies that can help.

Good luck, be strong.

I understand your situation but perhaps if you ask a local rescue org, they can find someone who for a small fee would care for your cats in the interim. You should not have to give up your cats for such a (and I apologize but..) not the best reason on behalf of your friends. I have severe allergies and live quote well with cats. So can they. I realize they are helping you but do they not understand mental health is important and anyone I know who loves their cats needs them at a time like this and no doubt they are severely stressed and a move without you is precarious for them right now.

I have patients with cancer who keep their pets so your friends are being helpful but surely to God someone can help with the cats!
