Help with a kibble addict
Hello!
Two months ago, I got a third cat named Mimi. Last time she was weighted she was 16 pounds, so I want to switch her to canned Wellness, like my other two cats. The only problem is, she will absolutely not touch the stuff. I tried putting a little amount with her kibble, but she won't even eat the kibble if there is wet food there! I tried sprinkling ground kibble on the wet, sticking her paw in the wet food for her to lick off (she wiped it on my bedsheets!), heck, I even tried seringe feeding her! I don't want to starve her to get her to eat. She is on a meal schedule, two feedings a day, but even then she will not eat it! Anyone else ever had such a stubborn thing!

I'd suggest starting with a canned food that's a little more "junky", like Fancy Feast. Turkey & Giblets, Chicken & Liver, Beef & Liver Feast are all grain and gluten free and cats tend to like them first before they go for the healthier stuff like Wellness. You can gradually change over later. Don't syringe feed it or she may develop an aversion. Put just a teeny amount, like the sized of a pencil eraser in with her dry. Or even make an a sandwich with a pinch of FF between 2 pieces of kibble and feed that to her when she's uber hungry. Baby steps, you'll get there. Which reminds me, does she like baby food at all?

I found with Puddles, I had to dispose of her bag of kibble as she would sniff it out and try her best to get at it before I could get her to eat Wellness. I even tried hiding it in the laundry room, but she still managed to sniff it out. I ended up putting pulverized Salmon Real Food Toppers on her food to get her to eat.
