Those horse biscuits sound good. What holds all the ingredients together for baking?

I just found this on that free pet projects site:

Sticky Treat

1 cup sweetfeed
1 cup pellets
1 cup molasses
1½ cups hot water
4 apples, cut into large pieces
4 celery stalks, cut into small pieces
Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together in a bucket. Refrigerate any uneaten food.

Yield: 2 quarts

Here's a different variation of the same thing:

Sweet Stuff for Horses

1 cup sweetfeed
3 tablespoons molasses
½ cup grated carrot
½ cup finely chopped celery
apples

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients except apples. Core each apple three-fourth of the way down. Stuff about 2 tablespoon mixture into center of each apple.

Yield: 1 ¼ cup filling
