Musher's Secret -- input

Hi everyone, especially those Mushers and winter snow lovers!

Snowshoe trails will be opening within the next 2 weeks in the Sea-to-Sky country of BC and I plan to take my Cocker Spaniel with me when I go. However, we have one big problem ... snow balls in her fur.

Hubby went on the internet and found something called Musher's Secret for use in preventing ice and snow build up between the pads. Has anyone used this product? Has anyone used it on the fur of the legs, belly and long droopy ears?

I will be giving my dog her winter shave this week, and she wears a polar fleece lined coat when we go out in the winter, but that doesn't stop the snow from sticking to her fur. Especially the dry, powdery snow we get up Whistler/Callahgan where the snowshoe and cross country ski trails are.

Any comments or suggestions about snow repelant would be most appreciated, especially by Lady, since she loves to play outside in the snow!

No suggestions, just peering in to see how to keep Scruffy from being the Abominable Snowpuppy when go out in winter.

after this mis hap with my cocker one winter

i had been suggested EVERYTHING under the sun.
From butter, to cooking sprays to vaseline ( any oil or grease really)
I never tried mushers secret, i just shaved Bailey down I was worried about him remaining "greasy" for the entire winter. It was just way easier to put a coat on him go out and enjoy the winter.

Trimming the hair between the pads, around the toes and up the legs is just about the only way to prevent snow build up in the foot area that I've ever found to work.

that's exactly what Snowpuppy Scruffy looks like after winter outings. And his face matches!
I just put booties on him before we go to teh park and pull the chunks off the rest of him
