I'd be checking with the vet regardless, so that's no problem. SC would be easier cuz I've already done SC injections but I think IM is something I can handle, too--especially for something like this that can get out of hand pretty quickly! Thanks for the info, reanne. It's given me questions to ask when I next talk to the vet!

hazel, I'm glad the pups are able to keep food down now. Hope Cass' swelling goes down soon too.

Thanks, TQ. They just had supper and both of them kept their morning meal down, so we're that the worst is over. And Cass isn't quite so marshmallowy tonight!

Thanks for the good wishes, ladies!

Cass is still a bit puffy in the face but except for a little jowl droopiness in Ember, he's about back to normal. They'll be getting max dosage of Benadryl for a day or two, yet, but by and large they're on the mend

Shay, it's very scary when it happens--especially being so far from the vet. Soem of the dogs have had similar reactions to bee stings, so we keep Medrol (prednisolone) and Benadryl handy all the time. Usually I'm so busy medicating and monitoring that I don't have time to panic. But when things settle a bit and I have a chance to sit, the adrenaline shakes set in... Consider the tummy rubs passed on per your request!
