Would someone like to take a guess at what Maverick may be?

Hi everyone! First post on the forums here; thanks for having me.

This is Maverick; got him at 9 weeks, found him on Kijiji, the girl who I bought him from brought him down to Winnipeg from a reserve near Churchill, MB. She advertised him as a "husky" but had no info, fresh dog no medical, and only a picture of his father. The mother, she said , was "too mean" to have a picture of.

Soooo anyways. He's up to date with shots now, vet checked and really healthy! I love my boy and I know he's the greatest dog in the world but I still think its fun to speculate on what he may be; now I'll post a few pictures....

The first pic is the one we were given of his father, which is definately a husky but almost looks like a 'lil wolf in him ( I apologize for small/low quality of that photo, it was taken from kijiji website, onto my girlfriends phone, then back onto the computer so it lost a little fidelity in the mix.)

Then we have a few pics of Maverick at 10 weeks old; followed by some taken today, he will be 4 months tomorrow.

I do believe he is at least half husky; the other half I can't decide between border collie or newf. He's got webbing about 3/4 up his toes. And he weighs 30lbs at 4 months. If it were newfie in there... that'd make him a Mackenzie River Husky, if I'm not mistaken!

Thanks for the interest guys!

AAaand at 4 months.....

Yeah border collie was one of my suspicions; although Melinda, you have a point with shephard, haven't thought of that, maybe some belgian shep (groenendael) in him?

Wow he looks so much like my neighbours dog (that they dumped)
They thought he was a newf mix, but when he grew up to be a (guessing) BC cross they no longer wanted him....

here are pics of him a pup then fully grown looks like yours .
