It all sounds good aslan - actually, silly me, I can see grabbing a feral cat - I have done and lived to tell the tale (pun intended) - but I do NOT recommend it. It was when I was young and foolish but the cat did eventually come to like me, lol (I had gloves on though and a blanket for the kitty. This was in the days before we really had all this stuff worked down to a fine science if one can actually claim that now, hehheh.)

Good work though and I am sure he'll be just fine.

Take care!!!

my cat

A cat I had did this he was under the tub and it was a waiting game. it looks like he just could just walk right out if he wants to. Like other before me i suggest putting the food right outside of the hole and wait. I'm sure it's frustrating and i hope it works out with out stressing him out to much good luck.

Oh, thank God!
Aslan, you really are a hero.
Nikkol, I guess you really did come to the right place for help, eh? Have a safe trip back to NY, and thank you for rescuing this kitty. He's very pretty. I'm sorry that your experience with this little guy was so frustrating - we definitely ALL felt frustrated. I'm glad things are working out...
Hopefully you can now join this forum with positive experiences, and share those of the members as well.
Good luck!

Update:

Alright , Coltrane is safe in New York he's staying over there with my other 2 dogs. He still very scared and hiding in places I would of never thought of. His appetite diminished significantly however, that's one stressed out cat. He should be cool like his namesake.

Glad to hear that Coltrane made it safely to NY, anyway! Silly kitty! I hope he adjusts to his new home quickly and gets his appetite back!

You could ask the person who is caring for him to get some Rescue Remedy (Bach Flower Essences), which has worked for me in the past on highly stressed cats. He has been through quite an ordeal.

he may be best staying in one room with litter box and food and bedding for a bit.. he has been through alot and until you are back and he becomes more comfortable in his surroundings.. with the new smells of animals, and surroundings he needs to feel he has a safe place. definitely keep an eye on his eating, cats cannot go without eating for long periods it can make them literally ill. hope to see more pics of this sweet guy and updates on how he is doing and how he settles

Oh no,poor little guy,now he's got dogs to worry about
I hope he is with someone who cares about cats, understands this is one terrified kitty.
When I took my Vinnie to the vet last week,a beautiful Golden came up the Vinnies carrier to say hi,Vinnie went berserk, absolutely terrified, luckily he was in his carrier.
Anyway Nick, you must be relieved he's not in that hole anymore, thank's to Aslan.

I agree with loopoo.....it would really be best if Coltrane could be kept in a room by himself for awhile with his food and litterbox.

He must be really stressed out after being forced out of his hiding place and then moving to a new place and having dogs around now. Also, make sure that he is eating because cats get fatty liver disease if they go without food.
