Vlad's follow up vet appointment

I just got back from the vet with Vlad. I wanted to take him to get his toe looked at by his usual vet. I wasn't able to see it well last time, but omg my poor baby. He tore his nail totally out. :sad: It's healing well, which is the good thing. She sent me home with 7 more days of antibiotics and some iodine to clean his toe. I also made an appointment to take him back in two weeks. My poor big boy. He's sitting in the carrier still. I had to give him Xanax before so he's a little quiet.

Oh poor Vlad that sounds painful! I'm sure he'll be all healed up....I bet Maks will give him some extra snuggles to help him along!

I felt terrible when I saw his little toe. He's been a good boy though. I gave him his meds, wrapped in his favorite cheese of curse, and then he let me wash his paw a bit. I still have some of the pain medication left so I'm going to keep giving it to him, since I know he must really be in pain.

Maks was such a good little brother. When we got back from the vet, he didn't want to come out of his carrier, and Maks sat next to him the whole time.

When I saw his toe, it really hit home how good cats are at hiding pain. I know that has to hurt, which is why I'm still giving him the pain medication I got last week. I'd feel a lot better if he allowed a dressing to stay on it, but that's impossible.
