Let's hope that he is getting so tired that he will let this man take him in. One thing that troubles me, is that you said that the man promised that he would not hurt him, was there something that led you to believe that he might?

No there was nothing that led me to believe he might hurt him...he just said for me not to worry when he was trying to capture him he could do it so he wouldn't be harmed ...he was just reassuring me he knew how to handle dogs. For some reason even before I got the call from Orillia, I some how felt this man knows the area where Sable is.....I could never picture Sable in town.

That's reassuring Shirley. For a minute my hackles went up. At least there is no chance of him getting hit by a car in the bush, which if he was buzzing around town and not being used to it, it could be dangerous for him.

Shirley...lets hope this is the chance for Sable! I really thought Sable would have been found by now! I admire your loyalty!! really...I have told so many people about you!! funny how that is? we dont even know one another ! but everyone says the same thing! you are an Angel! and a very dedicated one! To be still searching and not giving up !!!

My prayers are for Sable to allow capture!! Maybe this is the man that is near the tents! maybe he hasnt been keeping Sable but maybe Sable sort of trusts him to a point?? to come around??

I spoke with the man Tim in Washago this afternoon...he said he got to
about six feet away from this dog (not trying to convince myself it is Sable)
He said he used the phrase i gave him "lets go see Mark" and he was
coming cautiously to him...it is near a playground...a child let out a scream and he bolted.

He says he has seen him there on a number of ocassions and will go back again tomorrow..He has offered to put up flyers for me around the area.
He seems to feel he can win this dog's trust.

It would be easy as I have said before to just give up but as long as there are leads I will follow them.

Well this certainly sounds like a good lead. I'm going to be up near Washago this weekend at my friends cottage. Maybe I'll see something. I can bring a flyer if you would like and give it to my friend. He is there every weekend, maybe he will see somethign too?

Shirley,this somehow sounds VERY promising,more so than any other lead or maybe I am just hoping..
It's been almost a year,if this is Sable,having survived for a year on his own,he will be deserving of HeadLines in the newspaper and you the Pet-Owner of the year for never giving up

Thanks for all your kind word and encouragement thru this...I wouldn't have made it without you.

Carly I will email you a copy of Sable's "Wanted" poster and thank you for your kindness...it would be awesome if you find him.

I have put some pictures of Sable on www.dogster.com/dogs/601433 if anyone would like to take a look at them as I still haven't figured out how
to get the size down to post on here.

He is a very unique looking dog and I can see why people would think he was a coyote or wolf.

I really hope this Tim guy can catch him for you . Sounds like he is a dog lover.

I still get this gut feeling that Sable is alive and think of him everyday.

No Chris I have had no leads for the past two weeks. The guy in Washago seems like a "flake" not sure he even saw him. Another fellow thought he saw him but when he saw the coloured pictured said no the dog he saw was much lighter???

I have an ad in the North Simcoe News that gets delivered to the rural Barrie/Orillia areas by mail tomorrow so maybe someone in the boonies has seen him and doesn't get the local paper?

Thanks so much for your concern and having looked when you were in the Orillia area.

Chris thanks for the lead on canadastrays...talked with Paula Kennedy who
is in Oshawa and does Norwegian Elkound rescue and she says it is in a
sheltie rescue right now but definitely not Sable as it looks like a purebred.

Thanks for the link but this dog was a surrender and I called on him
several months ago as well as another one named Creemore who as well
was a surrender but sure looked like Sable (He is on petfinder under
german shepherd/HUSKY)

Thanks again.you just never know where Spencer, Billie or Sable will show up.

Oh Shirley! the picture looked sooo much like Sable...I saw that is was a surrender but you never know who may have picked him up in his travels and then maybe it did not work out and they surrender? I am so sorry to get anyones hopes up! but when I saw the picture my heart dropped! I will still keep looking!

Shirley,I saw beautiful Sable in the free Canadian Pets&Animals magazine and the sweet Bullie that was stolen..
Did you ever check in to the Indian reservation nearby(I think),often times there are packs of dogs running around,maybe Sable joined a pack?
It's now been more than a year,you are a true loving dog-owner and all your dedication and strenght,just HAS to be rewarded Come on Sable!!

Shirley...did you ever get the phone number of that lady that called asking if you were still missing your dog? I received my phone bill but unfortunately it didn't have the phone number of the collect crank call I received. It seems like I didn't keep him on the line long enough for it to record his number.

I did get the number but I still haven't been able to track down the person who made the call. The call came from a business that was closed on the Saturday when we went up. I spoke with a lady who called on a sighting who knew the owner of the business and confirmed that there is a lady in the little office that works for them.
I will try and go up there again on Friday and see what I can find out.
I went up to the market in Barrie last Friday to talk with the farmers but it got rained out and by then the lady in Orillia would have gone again.
I think maybe I might go and just follow her home....if she does have him she wouldn't admit it at the office and the last sighting is only a few minutes from where the call was made. The man who owns the business does not have him...talked with his son and the lady who called on the sighting says she does their landscape work and they only have a little white dog.
Thanks for thinking of him Sil...I think of Billie and Spencer everyday too and
someday they will all be home.

OMG and every time I see this thread highlighted, I am hoping for the best. I cannot begin to imagine how Shirley feels. I am sure we will all shed a tear or two when Sable is found and reuinted with Shirley. Take care.
