Bump on Dogs Jaw (Pictures Inside)
It doesnt seem to hurt her but it's been there for about 2 months now and hasn't gone down. Anyone know what it could be or have any experience with them?

Tristaj82, I think you would be wise to let a vet take a look at that, just in case it's what our red cattle dog had, a mast cell tumour, although it's not as angry looking as hers. They are supposedly more common on red and golden dogs. Susie's didn't appear to be bothering her either and was situated on her back. We had it, along with a mammary tumour, removed.

I agree, Tristaj82! If it's been there a couple of month now, it's definitely time to have it checked out by a vet. At the very least, you'll get some peace of mind if it turns out to be nothing. And if it's going to be trouble, best to find out what it is early!

I also agree ....it's definitely something that needs to be seen by your vet. Good luck and please post with an update.

Thanks so much hazelrunpack, goldfields, and rainbow. Went to the vet today. From aspiration looks like basal cell tumor. Planning to get it excised sometime soon. Will be an unexpected expense ($500-$700) but she is worth it. Wish us luck!
