Freeze-out
It may just be my ancient computer but as this has consistently happened with pets.ca and doesn't happen with any other website I go to I'll mention it in case you have suggestions.
I log onto the website fine but when I try to get onto the bulletin board (or elsewhere) my computer freezes at "index" and doen't move onto "rotate store". I've allowed pop ups but it doesn't make a difference. I have to "end task", which then freezes as well and to have to ctrl-alt-del to get out. When I log on after boot-up, it's smooth sailing. |

My problem is (and "only" on this website) is that 90% of the time the pages freeze/hang. It is so frustrating, especially when you are posting a reply.

Thanks for the Note!
We are addressing slowness issues all the time but especially this week. Any further comments that specify what is happening are very helpful. Stuff like what browser and what operating systems you are using and if you are on high speed or dialup - are helpful as well. Thanks in advance! Marko

And the quirky thing is ...I never have "slowness" issues! Windows 98, Explorer & Sympatico High Speed in answer to your questions Marko. For me, when freeze-out occurs, I have NO vertical scroll bar at all, the lateral scroll is there but of course cannot be moved and all my other "favourites" as well as the activation keys (sorry, not sure what they are called) ie. "back", "stop", "refresh" are frozen. Only the top portion of the boilerplate for pets.ca appears, sometimes only the dog and cat, the navigation field at the bottom of my screen ( the one that says opening/ done) extends beyond it's borders and is full of &&&$$$$%%% symbols ~ if you think it would be helpful to copy it, I'll try to do so. Most often I can open up my yahoo or msn account and open a second pets.ca as well as the bulletin board successfully even though the original pets.ca is still frozen in the background.

I have Windows XP, use I.E. 6 SP2 and have cable high speed light.
It's only this site that the pages load really slow and 90% of the time they just hang and I have to click on stop and then refresh. When I do that the page loads right away. Sometimes when I submit a reply and that happens I end up with a double post or else I get "page cannot be displayed". |

I'm still having the same problems as mentioned in my two previous posts but only about 60% of the time now.

It's seems to be slower in the off topic threads and in any other thread when I reply to someone.

It happens in all the forums for me. Just now, when I clicked on this thread it took two minutes for the little green bars to make it halfway across. I got too frustrated and clicked stop, then refresh, and it loaded instantly.

I also have found this forum to be slow lately. No issues until yesterday. Pages on all threads take up to 20 seconds or more to load, half the time I get tired of waiting and move on to something else. No problems on other sites. I have a very old computer and use windows milleniun with high speed.

I am upgrading various templates in order to improve speed. Please bear with us for another day.
Thanks Dave

I have also had problems with logging out of this site. Several times when I tried to log out my computer would freeze, needless to say now I remain signed in regardless of whether I am on this site or not.
