Can dogs have allergies?

King will scractch his side when we are on the grass he dosen't do this anyplace else at first I thought it was because we had a leash and collar on.

Dogs can have allergies, just like people. Some are allergic to pollens, others to mold, some to foods...the list is probably close to endless. We have two that get itchy in the warm weather unless it's raining. Their allergy symptoms are very mild (slightly goopy eyes and itchy chins for the most part) and easy to treat.

If the symptoms get problematic for King (if he scratches to the point of damaging his skin, for example) then definitely talk to your vet about some of the remedies that are out there for allergies.
