I am not aware of any groomer schools per se, but I think if you check the community college extended education catalogues in your area there may be courses available that would let you build toward getting certification.
I myself thought about this as a second career after I retired as I thought it might be enjoyable and at least something that I liked to do. Good luck!

I would do as other poster suggested and check out community colleges etc. - BUT - I would also ask a really good groomer - my Eskie's groomer is excellent - has been in business over 25 years. I can ask her today - my dog is in for a dental and the grooming salon is in same location - if she knows of one she will tell me.

dont know what it is like where you live, but I am sure there are many places you could go to, ask a certified groomer, not all, in fact most groomers are not certified. I am currently getting certified as I have been grooming for a long time, it takes about a year, but will take me longer because I have to go to winnipeg a lot. Here we have the Manitoba pet groomers association. You probably have something like that in onterio and the best bet would be to get in contact with them, they will advise you on seminars, and help you with your goals and help you find someone to apprentice with. Good luck! It is fun! But boy harder than I ever thought it would be, and I have experience grooming a few breeds. Go for it!
