Unhappy Vinnie is sick

Since yesterday when I came back from 14+he has had runny poop,he is a total mess,I could not clean him properly.
Hubby brushed him, which Vinnie loves and I manged to cut away some of his dirty fur and clean him somewhat with cat-towels.
He was outside with us today, but is not himself.
I've given him some of the Slippery Elm powder in his food, but he's not eating much.
Right now he's sleeping.
I will take him to the vet tomorrow,he is there Saturday,if I see no improvement.
I don't know what he could have gotten in to or why he would be sick, the others are fine.
No major changes in anything....
I am a little concerned about dehydration, but his gums are nice and pink, should I give him some water with a syringe maybe??
My poor, poor beautiful boyhe'll get better.

Oh no, poor Vinnie!! I hope this blows over quickly, whatever it is. Will he eat some slippery elm mixed in with a bit of baby food or tuna juice? Probably don't need to syringe any water just yet, it might just stress him out more. You could try tempting him with the liquid from a can of low-sodium salmon for some extra fluids, but otherwise I'm sure it can wait a day or two. If he does need to go to the vet, they can always administer subQ fluids to help rehydrated him.

Oh, poor Vinnie, I'm sorry he's feeling under the weather chico. Sure hope whatever he has is going to clear up on it's own and no need for a vet visit. Sure is worrisome when something just isn't right with them isn't it.
I am sending lots of healthy to make Vinnie all better.

what a sweetie, probably just a bug and he will be back to normal soon!! The colour of his gums is more a sign of lots of red blood cells and circulation, The skin pinch test is better for checking dehydration.. Good luck with your baby!

Wow,with all those well-wishes he just has to feel better, thank's!
SCM,he has been eating some food and I added the Slippery Elm,this morning he drank quiet a bit of water,I also added some water to his Wellness food.
He seems better, but I am holding my breath
I found poop even on the wall in their bathroom
It will be a real problem trying to get him cleaned up,his poor little bum seems sore, but he stinks, poor baby..
I was thinking of,after we get him somewhat cleaned up,putting something on his sore bum,but don't know what, what about Vaseline?

That happens to Jasper every once in a while and slippery elm bark really helps him.

GG,I think I'll just not put anything on,I remember hearing about Vaseline not being a good thing.
I'll have to cut off some more fur(if I can)and clean him with a soft sponge and warm water,if he lets me
I'll not go to the vet today, after his tooth and lump removal,he's not to fond of the carrier, hopefully it's just something he ate,he eats just about anything.

Chico, I'm sorry Vinnie isn't feeling well. I hope he's doing better.

I went to the vet to get Czari's manicure today, and the girl at the front was telling me her dog had poopies too. She put Desitin on his sore butt. I don't know if that might be an option for cats. But, since it's something you put on babies, I'd think maybe it isn't toxic.

Hey hope he is still getting better! You do take them outside with you right? Could just be something from out there, a bacteria or something, maybe from eating grass?

I agree, I would try the diaper rash cream, he probably wont want to lick it, I cannot imagine it tasting good, and it is so thick and pasty.. It is something that I use on my horses bummies when they get a sore from rubbing their tails.. Good luck again!

Well,I don't know he seemed ok,we were outside for several hours.
The biggest problem just now is all the caked up poop,we did manage to remove some more today.
He is a little too"chubby"to try to clean it himself.
I cut off a lot of dirty fur, will do some more tomorrow,he did have the runs outside, but not all over himself.
As soon as we get him cleaned up a bit more,I'll put the cream on his little bum.
A white cat and the runs is just not good, not for me not for him.
He eats grass and cat-nip outside, but it never bothered him beforeand we do not use any pesticide or fertilizer(sp??)

It could be like humans, a particular bacteria or virus that is upsetting his digestion.

Glad to hear he is doing OK.

Hopefully by tomorrow Vinnie will be back to normal. It could be all the meds and stuff he was on and now trying to work out of his system just messed him up a little. Or maybe he got something outside. Could/would any of your neighbours throw stuff over your fence? Tons of possibilities. I know TT gets the runs once in a while but his belly is super sensitive.
to the white blob. I hope he feels better soon.

Plain aloe vera gel might be another option for helping sooth and heal his poor little bum. Plus it shouldn't attract any dirt once it dries.
