Semi Moist Cat Food

I am in deseperate need of finding a semi-moist cat food. One that is in kibble form but moist.

I know tender vittles is no longer sold in the USA nor is 9 lives semi-moist. Can I buy it from another country? where? how?

I know people on here prefer wellness or something else but i have a unique situation and have to find semi-moist: NOT canned or pouched food!
I found KD online.

Anything else????

Can you explain your situation a little bit? Does your cat have medical issues? Is there a reason why he/she needs to be on semi-moist food as opposed to canned/pouched? Tender Vittles is a really poor-quality food....

I meant to say Supreme V I found on line,....not KD...but nothing else.

Looking for semi-moist. nothing else is an option right now. poor quality food is better than no food when your cat won't eat.

I guess I was thinking that we might be more helpful if we knew what the restrictions were based on...does your kitty have problems with his teeth/mouth?

I honestly have no idea. The only semi-moist product I can think of is Pounce treats or Hip Action cat treats. Would Simba go for Whiskas Cat Milk? You can find it at most grocery stores, comes in a little purple carton.

I emailed them to see if they can tell me who sells it. I am thinking if there is a machine that makes the food it has to be sold somewhere.

can you call 1-800-268-5345 and see if they make semi-moist? this number does not work unless you are calling from inside Canada...so I can't call it b/c I am in the USA. thank you.

I don't know if this will work for you, but have a look at this product:

Prowl

It's a dehydrated food that you hydrate with warm water. I just bought some because I want to start slowly making my cats home made food and this has all the nutrients, vitamins minerals they need to thrive. I was going to mix some of this in with the home-made. But if your kitty has had her teeth removed this may be at least an option.

Here, they have some locations in Canada that sell this. Maybe you can get s sample.

Sorry to hijack, but just want to mention that Prowl is not meant to be a vitamin mix for balancing a home made diet. It's supposed to be a stand-alone food and will become unbalanced if mixed with just meat. You can certainly supplement it with up to 15% fresh meat though. My other problem with Prowl is that it's pretty high in carbs. Nothing wrong with feeding it occasionally, I just wouldn't make it a main diet.

I can supplement with some meat now and then. Thanks for the clear up SCM. I thought it might be a good option for Simba.

what is the honest kitchen website? is that where they sell the prowl? what is the prowl? i can't see it in the photo. it looks like rice and you add water and it expands????

You add warm water and let it sit for 10 minutes.

They sell it at Global Pet supply. I saw there are a lot of places in Canada they sell it.

I hope it's an option for her. The reviews I read on one site had some people saying their cats liked it all soupy as well as mushy.

If you enter your zip code in the store locator section, maybe there is a place that sells it near you and you can get a sample from them sooner

thanks i didnt even see the pet locator. i thought it was sold in Canada only./ there is a store 5 miles away that sells it! i will try it. if simba doesn't like it i will give it to my friend who has 4 cats...she is getting all my canned food that simba won't eat,.

the whiskas milk was a hit. she didn't drink much but seemed to enjoy what she did drink. how long can that sit out in the bowl before you throw it out?

the prowl was not a hit...but at least we tried it

At least that's something. I wonder, can't you maybe put some kibble in with the milk and let it get mushy?

yes and then she refuses to eat it. i have soaked kibble in water and drained it. nope won't eat it. i am now taking bread and putting it in a ziplock baggie with the kibble to see if the bread will soften the kibble (like what you do with hard cookies). It's worth a shot.

I also took her kibble and chopped it with a food processor. she eats the equivalent of 4 pieces of kibble. not enough to say she is eating.

Hmm...there has to be something specially made for cats who have few teeth.

yup. she hates all canned and all pouched food. I wish there was something for cats with few teeth....canned food I guess but my girl refuses to eat any of it. the brand, flavor, etc doesn't matter. she doesn't want it. I spent $45 on cat food today just to buy a variety and see if she would eat any of it. i have a feeling i will be giving most of it to my friend with 4 cats.
