My three year old cat leaves blood marks (about 1 inch) a few times a month on my bed, window sill, etc. He does not seem to have a problem whatsoever using his litter box. Anyone else have this problem? Thank you!

I can't understand why you're mad at your cat . He has no idea he leaving blood marks around the house and the trip to the vet is long over dues. He could have an urine infection or crystals and you really should have the vet test his urine.

I have to agree with Barkingdog, a vet trip is in order. Your cat is not doing this to spite you, he obviously has a medical issue that needs to be dealt with. Good luck.

Vet, I agree. When my young male cat did that it was promptly to the Vet at the first sign and he did have urinary crystals.

I don't think the OP is mad at the cat. He/she is frustrated at the situation.
Either way, blood marks that do not go away indicate a problem - so I of course agree with the other members....kitty needs to see a vet.

Have you changed his food lately or has he gotten into something he shouldn't have? Are his stools softer or harder than usual?
An abrupt food change can cause an irritated digestive system resulting in blood from his back end. Definitely see your vet anytime there is unexplained bleeding. Good luck! |
