I caught him in the act!!!!
So I finally caught my 8 yr old manchester peeing on a chair this morning. I know he does this from time to time esp if someone hangs a coat on a chair. (that will teach them to put it away!!!!) I took him by his collar and told him firmly that wasn't acceptable and he went all stiff and still, it was really weird and just stood there all hunched up. I'm not looking for any advice really, it was just a really weird reaction. He is very dominant dog and I could say neurotic.....

Sorry I don't have any advice for you. It doesn't sound like he reacted too oddly though.

Well Rookie went to the vet all in his coma state. Vet did a complete check up and found nothing. He has done this before with his ears. She said he looks very depressed And she is on call tomorrow for him. I have used this vet for 20 yrs and trust them. So no second opinion as of yet. This dog is different I can tell ya.

I had something like this happen to our dog, Connor, once. We were playing fetch in the park and then all of a sudden he lay down on the grass and wouldn't move. He just would not move, no matter how much we called him. We eventually picked him up and brought him straight to our vet (only across the street from us). They did a full check up and said he was fine. He snapped out of it the next day. Very weird.
Hope it's nothing serious with Rookie! Best wishes

He probably went stiff and still because he was not expecting your reaction. If you do not usually grab him by the collar then this would explain why he reacted this way.
If you take a dog by the collar quickly and then quickly draw them into you then any dog would react with this 'stiff still' thing. Please note that I am not critizing I am only trying to explain the stiff-still. |

So Rookie had a very quiet night. He's still not moving around. He is definately sick cause he did vomit. I will call the vet and get an action plan. I think he has a bug?

So Rookie is still very inactive, he did eat some can food with a bit of rice. He peed outside(no blood), doesn't seem to be in pain anywhere. His focus is really strange, i was thinking his sight? But he seemed to know where everything was outside. This is a really high energy dog! I have a vet follow up appointment on Monday. Any other opinions? I will try and test his hearing too.

I am happy today to cancel Rookie's vet appointment. I wanna tell ya he was acting like he had a stroke...... Now he is back to normal. I guess it was a bug? You should have seen this dog's behaviour!!!!

What a relief! Could he have passed something that was bothering him? Here's to no more scary sessions with Rookie!
