oh yes! the floofy white one and the regal black ornament are my favourites!! Any idea where I can get seeds to stat a couple of those for the garden here

Your gardens are absolutely amazing! so beautiful and so well tended. Have you trained the black and white "ornaments" to help out with the weeding?

In addition to my admiration, a quick question for you... with such lovely Hostas how do you manage to keep slugs under control? In the north I never had to deal with slugs but where I am now they seem to invade every time it rains and i'm worried they are going to eat EVERYTHING (heaven forbid if they got in my fridge!!).

Otter, Chico may have a different answer but down in Australia someone on the garden forum suggests that a container with, of all things, beer in it will help get rid of slugs and earwigs.
Chico, that is a lovely garden, the different colours and types of foliage are great together. In your third photo what is the plant with the huge leaves? If that's a Hosta, well I have never grown them, but I can see why people would. As your photo's downloaded , when I saw just the petals of your orange flower I thought it was a Chrysanthemum(only because I have one flowering now here) but no, I think it's a Gerbera. With the photo you labelled big pots of flowers, did you buy the plants separately and pot them into the big pot yourself, or buy it planted up? It'll be quite a picture fully in bloom. Your table decoration is lovely, and the only thing I have against the white fluffy flower is that it doesn't have a lot of perfume. Very decorative though.

Otter,I bet this year we will have a Slug problem, with all the rain we've had.
I used to do the beer thing, but found it really disgusting
If you put anything around the bottom, something like ashes or very fine sand, the slugs cannot get to the plants, there are also slug-pellets,but my cats seemed to like them, not good!!

Goldfields, the big leafed plant is a Hosta,it's kind of blue-green..
Thank's everyone,I too prefer the black/white ornaments
