Question:
My friend recently took her sick cat to the vet she said the doctor pulled the hair from the cats chin and it pulled long plugs of plastic out as well. He told her that this was common from plastic dishes. That the cats face rubs against them and the plastic builds up and works into the skin. He then told her that she was lucky that most cats that come in with this die! I have never heard of this before. Is it really common? Does it poison their system? I bought steel bowls now but what should I tell my friends to watch for? Answer The only reaction in some cats to my knowledge that eat from plastic bowls is a chin ACNE. In this case we put them on either ceramic or stainless steel food bowls. Never heard of plastic being pulled from the chin......
