I did not want to say this :(
Hello guys, well you all know by now the issues I have been having with harley, right. Well for the past 6 days he has been vomiting vile and white foam. He missed one day in between, and knock on wood, so far he has not today. Well the probiotics are no longer working, and he is losing weight again. I called my vet to see when I can get an appointment. I have taken intuitive, and tried a new food again. This one is called oven baked, it is made here in Quebec. Knock on wood this will help the poor guy.
I do not know what is causing the vomiting, but normally he does this when his body can not digest anymore. His stool is still fine. But going 3 times a day instead of 2. By the way this was happening before the cobb incident. That just did not help any. Keep my baby in your prayers, I do not know how much more financially I can do without Kayla suffering |

Rottielover, I don't know all the details of what you've been through with Harley, but incase it helps, I thought I'd mention that I've gone through some serious and lengthly GI issues with one of my dogs, the last bout of which left him 20 lbs. lighter and in really rough shape.
After years of dealing with these types of problems, with only limited success, I finally contacted a homeopath who works with dogs. I still saw my regular vet ofcourse, but going a more holistic route truely made all the difference in the world. Perhaps trying a different approach might help, if you haven't already? |

Rottielover and Harley ! I don't suppose he's just overheating in this wretched weather ? I also agree that the coconut oil might be worth a shot as would be a naturopath. A naturopath is not less expensive than a Vet though in case you are wondering if you can afford both. But at the end of the day, if he's cured or at least better managed then it means less overall costs because of repeat problems.

He is no way overheating, he has no energy outside, I do not push it. But inside I have air conditioning. We just got back from the vet, she wanted to give him sulkrate to coat his asphogas.
By the way, on May 26 he was 105 lbs, as of today, he is 93 lbs. He still has loads of energy, but with this dramatic weightloss, it really has me worried. He has been on natures variety, innova, wolfking, and he is now on natural balance. No treats, nada, nothing, I just switched him onto ovenbaked. Amazing ingredients, doing a switch over very mildly. The next step is an episeotomy. If that is the correct spelling for the test to remove tissue from his stomache. The possible c word maybe the next. My vet does not want to scare me, but I knew it was a chance. He has been getting worse, improving for a very short term, then going downhill fast. He still has energy when he wants, but I do not know how much longer the the weightloss. I have done the probiotic route, I have tried everything but the coconut oil |

 Crap ! This sucks ! I can't give you any advice on this , since I never had these type of problems with my guys. But franctly I saw Harley , and I really really don't think it's the big C. Just a feeling ? Maybe , but I'm not saying this to make you feel better , I just don't see it.
Will send lots of good toughts to you both |

My vet threw the idea out there, that if these meds do not work, we will test to make sure. If it is not either we are both at a loss, then I will have to see if I can afford a specialist.

Could he possibly have picked up something from his stay at the Spa? Has the vet done a microscopic exam of his stool? that it gets resolved soon.
Just wondering, have you ever tried raw satin balls? It may help with his energy/weight. |

Do I remember correctly--did I read a comment somewhere that Harley had IBD? Do you know which kind of IBD?

Aww Rottielover. So sad to hear about Harley having more trouble:sad:
I do agree with Rainbow about the Coconut Oil. I have had Hunter on it for a few months now, and it is wonderful stuff. It cured his yeast issues right away. I would say it is worth a try I will keep my and will that Harley will feel better soon

Rottielover, try not to let your mind go straight to the big C. In March Streets was passing tons of blood and mucous, had lost 20 pounds in a couple of weeks and no meds were working. He's totally fine now, happy as can be and building more muscles everyday, so don't loose hope, sometimes it just takes time to figure out what's going to work.

The sulkrate seem to be working, and so does the feeding 3 times a day. no vomit today so far, but yesterday there was some. This new food seems to be ok, only loose stool compared to the diareah he normally gets.
