Dog with VERY dry skin

Hi guys,

Lately my dog has VERY dry skin so she has flakes all over her fur. Could this be due to the heat or?...

What are you feeding? Food is usually the cause for dry skin or other skin problems, its been hot as the fire pits below here lately and no one has dry skin from it.

It really could be so many things, but a good look at the food is the best place to start ( if you are sure that there are no other underlying health problems of course)

depending on what food it is, it may contain some ingredients that are causing a reaction.
Search the food you are feeding, and read up on some stuff in the food section. It may just be as simple as that.

I fed my dogs pedigree for YEARS and they too had some light flaking, nothing that I really concerned myself with, but after a few switches to higher quality foods the results were like day and night.

Both my dogs were having dandruff issues and scratching all the time.
About 3 weeks ago I starting giving them a fish oil pill (found at the drugstore for not much money) and they hardly scratch anymore and their dandruff is getting sooo much better.
I give them 1 pill every morning and thats it!
Plus fish oil pills make thier coats so much more shiny, mine look like new dogs lol. No more dull, itchy dandruffy coats.
