I was listening to a news broadcast the other day. It is getting very favourable reviews. My son and son in law are both using it. My son in law says it is tons better than Vista ever was. My son hasn't had it long enough to form an opinion.
From what has been said there are a lot fewer glitches with 7 then there was with Vista.

I was helping a friend set up her Win 7 system and the durn thang hung 4 or 5 times while we were working. I had the feeling we were working with Windows 95 except that there were no out-and-out crashes--but we had to keep shutting down and rebooting to keep working I can't say I was favorably impressed--however, keep in mind that we were just setting things up and I was only working on it for a couple of hours, so I have rather limited experience with the new OS.

I 'spect I'll suffer along with Vista for a while yet till they work the bugs out of Win 7.

My boyfriend updated from xp to 7 and he likes it. He skipped vista. He says its seems to be pretty stable like xp. I will stick with xp till they either stop updateing (which lucky for me will be a couple of years) or i have to get a new pc (mine are pretty old ) .

We've been using 7 for almost 2 weeks now. I have to admit, it's better than Vista There are a few things that take getting used to (but then I hate change when it comes to my computer), but all in all I like it. Not as many glitches, and you no longer have that pop up asking you to confirm what you are doing (no more "You opened an Internet Explorer window, do you wish to proceed?" every frickin' time, lol).

So far it's a big FAIL for us...

it killed our desktop PC. We had to buy a new hard drive. Now it seems like it may have killed the new hard drive too.

scratch the second statement: the new hard drive is alive, barely. Still a BIG FAIL IMO
