Healing after neutering surgery
Hey. I plan to take my 2 year old dog for neutering tomorrow. However, i am so worried about how long it will take for him to heal after the surgery. Anyone with tips on how to make the healing process faster and easier for him? Totally appreciate.

If your Vet does not give you detailed instructions in writing I'll be pretty surprised. Pup will most likely have dissolving stitches. You will have to keep him quiet and no leaping about for 10 to 14 days. NO swimming. The hardest part is keeping them from jumping around as most feel pretty good in a day or so. Some lick or chew at the area so a cone might be needed. A T-shirt on, tail out the neck, can help with that too and keep the incision area clean. You might have pain meds for him, maybe not. You will check the incision area a couple of times a day to make sure it looks ok, if you suspect swelling or bleeding or a ripped stitch then back to the Vets but if you keep pup quiet that is very unlikely. He might be a bit groggy, have little appetite and have a funny voice when he first gets home and anaesthetic is wearing off. After that usually the biggest problem with them is preventing the leaping about.

I like using Arnica homeopathic pellets after any and all surgeries to help heal the muscle trauma and help with pain.
