Found Jack Russell X - Queensville, Ontario

This morning a Male Jack Russell showed up at the house

He is short haired, white with brown freckles on the ears, two small gray patches, one on either side towards his back end - Good body condition.

Neutered not Microchipped.

I have informed Animal Control and will keep him overnight at the very least.

He is a cutie and like a ping pong ball, doesn't stop moving and very friendly.

Thankfully, he's found a good spot for the night! I hope you can find his Humans soon, Chris!

Me too Hazel, I'm just checking some of the L/F sites, then I'm going to go back to a few houses that I didn't get answers from this morning....I think he came from south of us because I could hear him yapping next door before he showed up at my place.........sigh

thanks for taking him in, Chris. From what I understand they can be quite the... um... high energy... breed!!
Would love to see a picture! Hows he getting along with your critters?

You got that right Mollywog....high energy is an understatement

We brought him upstairs last night on a leash, he ran for Herbie and started growling ...I don't know if he wanted to kill or play, but decided it was better for all that he not stay upstairs....I put a dogbed in the basement with food and water, we also left the basement door open so he had the run of the vestibule.

Animal Control called me this morning to make arrangements to come and pick him up, I told her that we would keep him here for at least the weekend and continue our search from here.....if no luck, after that we will see...Pepe has named him Jackie (real original) and keeps telling me what a cute little guy he is .....

That's my thinking too Mollywog...let's hope we find his owners, that would be perfect and then we wouldn't have to make a decision

LOL, it's Chris's fault .....if she would refer to her hubby as Antonio instead of Pepe then he would obviously be sleeping with her and wouldn't have a decision to make.

Still no luck on finding Lil' Jack's owners

PEPE and I went around the neighbourhood putting up posters and knocking on folks doors...........nothing as of yet .....tomorrow I will knock on more doors......sigh

The thought of possibly keeping him if his owners were not located, unfortunately doesn't seem to be viable ....the introductions to the guys, did not go well, he wants to eat them all, even Junior the GSD from next door, they sniffed each other and Lil' Jack attacked and ended up with a chunk of his fur from his hind end .......As for the Kittehs', I won't even go there ...........don't worry they are fine, just scared *****less.

Soooooo, if nothing positive happens tomorrow, me thinks AC will have to pick him up ....he is a sweety as long as you are of the two legged kind.

Geezzz Chris! I just saw this! Youch!! Poor pups getting bitten by Jackie! I can understand why you can't keep him. Let's hope Pepe does too. Weird he would want to keep a hyper little doggie like that but doesn't want a quiet sleeps a lot kitty.
I you find Jackie's rightful owners soon. I would hate to have to make that decision too.

Yeah Pepe understands 14k, the way things are right now, there is just no way....he liked Lil' Jack 'cos he was so different from any of the other dogs that have lived with us, he found him cute and funny, which he is with two leggers...as for another kitteh, we are not really in a position to take on any more responsibility...it's just that he appeared the way he did and he thought that if he doesn't find his family, we would keep him, but it just isn't feasible.

I was really hoping for better news.

Do you get many tourists passing through? Could he have escaped from a vehicle or something?

Sorry to hear that he doesn't like your fuzzbutts and hope Antonio isn't too disappointed.

I had big hopes too Rainbow, we do get peeps going up to their cottage, but thursdays is a pretty ho-hum day on our road, plus if you lost your dog you would be hunting hi and lo for him.....he didn't even have a collar on, the one he has on in the pic, is one I found around the house.....I'm hoping someone local is missing him, tomorrow I will go on some more door to door knocking

Chris,my son has a JRT and she's good with my sons cat and other dogs, but she's 9 yrs old.
She was a terror on four legs when she was younger.
I hope you find the owner, but I don't blame you one bit for giving him to a shelter, hopefully a no-kill one

Chris - if you want - I can give you contacts at a Jack Russell rescue in Ontario. Maybe they can help.
