Panasonic DMC TZ3

So after searching the internet and talking with some of you and also people on a photography forum I have decided to try this camera. Brought it home today and charged the battery now I have to go to work and it will most likely be Wed. before I can actually take it out and play with it. Like I said before I know very little about cameras and it will most likely take me some time to learn how to use this one correctly. Here is where you camera buffs are going to raise your eyebrows.....but what the heck is white noise, ISO and SCN1 and SCN2
Many questions to follow as I am only on page 5 of manual

I think white noise is the specklies you get sometimes in your pics. (Like a pixel here and there end up white) maybe... I dunno.

ISO is the film speed in 35mm cameras. In digital, it's the same idea. The higher the ISO, the less light you need, but the more grainy the pic is.

SCN1 and SCN2 are probably scene 1 and 2, which would be some sort of preset settings on your camera.

Good luck! I hope you have fun with it. Are you going to post some pics?

i thought white noise was more of jagged look on the outer edges...scene 1&2 are a baby photo mode..you can enter info about the photo, birth date and then the camera keeps track of age when you take photos. should be a good little camera......the lenses are really good. 10x optical zoom is pretty good.......always use optical over digital zoom......have fun with your new camera......pics are coming pics are coming

Lettin the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin it back in.

Most of the stuff people worry about ain't gonna happen anyway.

Oh... I thought this was noise (the red "hot" pixel from the exposure being so long (5 mins)) --

I had better ones with tons of specks in different colors, but I photoshopped them all out.
