I once had a severe infestation of fleas on my 3 cats and dog. I think the vet gave me Frontline (goes between the shoulder blades) and that did the trick.

The flea collars at the store ARE good for one thing. You can cut one up and put it in the bag of your vacuum cleaner, and any fleas you vacuum up will be killed.

For anyone else reading, don't even bother wasting your money on grocery store or pet store remedies for fleas and worms.

I used Frontline on my cats to get rid of fleas and it did it kills the fleas and the eggs. You put it on once every month or two I do not remeber, but it works really well. Good luck.

no fleas on me!!!

Hey, I have an indoor cat and a puppy that is outside constantly. I never used flea stuff before I got my puppy, luckily my kitty was just fine... but since I got the dog i didn't want to risk fleas on the cat --- anyway, i found that sentinel for the dog is great - she LOVES the taste and eats it right up. The cat I gave Program (not too concerned about Heartworm). It's best to investigate - with help from your vet - for what flea control you need, want and can afford. But store stuff, not the most reliable....

I have used Advantage on my cats for years, but only May-Oct.
I do not know how it works once fleas are on your animals, but I've had no flea-problem,since Advantage.
You'll have to vaccum the house really good, they get in in any nook and cranny.

Oh and thanks for the flea collar in the sweeper bag idea I never heard that before and will try it. JENN
