Lying on her splint, is this ok?

My dog was given a splint as a temporary stabilizer for her broken humerus, and bandaging is wrapped around her upper body to keep it there, with a casting from shoulder to paw.. She is old, and gets sore from lying on one side all the time. I do my best to keep her from lying on the side with the splint, but all i can do in her search for relief is prop up her head and her body so the part of the splint that sticks out is not being pushed against.
Will her lying on the side with the splint be problematic?
It's late at night where I am, and my vet is unavailable.
Looking forward to a response.
