Well, heres some info I guess....

I got this email ( I couldnt remember everything that she said to me in the visit today so she emailed it all)
Ihave edited out some of the things they want me to do, check heart rate, check to see if he always fall to the left and so on.

Quote:
So far, the specialists are worried about either a brain lesion that is causing seizure like disorder, or possibly an electrical arrythmia (when the heart beats irregularly) that is triggered by exercise. The answers to these questions will help us direct any further tests we may or may not need to do.
Great:sad:

One thing I would like to offer you - I have asked for a lot of observation on your part, but what we could do is have you drop Bailey off for the day with us, and then we would do some of this ourselves. Basically I'm going to get one of my runners to take him for a full out 5 minute run and then hook him up to an EKG for 10 minutes afterwards.

Both specialists have offered to stay involved in the case so when we have more information for them they will continue to advise.
Good thing I guess???
Im going to talk to her about bringing Meiko in, he wont run as hard with out him for some reason

Thats all the news I really have for now, but I am so happy that I have found this vet.

It's never something easy, is it? But it sounds like you have a wonderful vet! With any luck they'll be able to get to the bottom of Bailey's problems and find a treatment.

The Pack sends s, too!

Oh my word, poor B! This is just crazy. I'm so glad you have such wonderful vets to work with. That whole observation thing definitely sounds like a good option, so they can see and monitor it in person. I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this. Big hugs to you and Mr. B!

I am definately going to ask that Meik gets to go with him too, I dont know why but this only happens (right now) when he is playing with Meiko, the little guy is SO determined to catch him for some reason.
They also board dogs there, so I will pay a days board for Meiko, I have no problems with that, but thats my main observation right now.

Well, im off to let him run <--- (thats me shaking with nerves)
Once i am finished that, i'll type up my responses and email them off...
I will be back on later this evening to chit chat ( depends on what kind of mood Guy is in too )

There is no better way, then the vet seeing this happening for themselves,so hopefully some conclusions will be made
I saw this done once on Animal Planet with a Lab,they ran him to exhaustion and later found out he had a treatable heartproblem.
To little Bailey and you

Well I did it again to him last night, I never want to do it again though, from now on out the vets can.

Same thing, 5-10 minutes ( thats the only difference, it took a bit longer) and he was staggering and everything again.
I brought him in the house because the black flies are REALLY bad here now, and let him "walk it off" in here.
He plopped on the living room floor spread eagle and wanted some water so I gave him a bit but he couldnt hold his head up to drink, I just sat with him and waited it out ( 5 minutes) and he was fine again.

Im happy to report though, the vet asked if his eyes twitched during an episode, they dont... they asked if his gums were pale or pink, they were a nice healthy pink, and to answer the question if he always fell to the same side.... Nope. It varies on the ground, if hes going throught a spot with a hole anywhere, he falls into the hole, in the house he just plopps down, no sad tumble over.

I couldnt get his heart rate ( they didnt think i would anyways) because all i could feel was him breathing. (very labored)

So, send that info off, and see what we hear next week.

Poor doggy and poor you for having to do it again. I hope you find something out soon.
btw if you ever need the heart rate again, feel on the inside of the thigh mid-way up from the knee. Between the muscles, you can feel an artery pretty well.

Sorry gals, still nothing.

Its hard to wait and see.... I figure by tomorrow I should have some info, but nothing as of yet.

He's still his usual self, I let him out earlier to have a little "trot" around the yard before his bath, nothing happend, but he didnt run hard like he would with the other dogs, I still want him to be able to enjoy himself so he went out and pestered everyone for a bit then was off to sniff the dandilions.
He had his bath shortly afterwards ( he was over due ) and now he is all dry and fluffy and sleeping on my bed snoring his little heart out.
