RC Urinary S/O vs. Medi-Cal Preventive (canned cat food)

Are these essentially the same thing? Our Stewie is on Medi-Cal dissolution dry right now and then will be on either of the two above. I believe the medi-cal is more expensive (vet food). Any experience on either one?

We have 3 kittens (2 male, 1 female) and they will all be on the preventative canned just for precautionary measures...will this harm the other 2 since they didnt have a UTI before?

Thanks!
