~Amber~ Labrador Retriever X, Montreal, Qc

Amber is approximately 7 years old and came to Rosie's Rescue with her 2 pups in early October. Her pups have been weaned and adopted to great families several weeks ago. She is now spayed and currently looking for a forever home of her own. She is very affectionate, housebroken, does not chew on anything in the house, knows all her commands, even how to play dead and is extremely obedient. She does chase squirrels and has not yet been tested with cats. Even though she is in a foster home with other dogs, she would probably not do well with young, highly excitable ones.

This wonderful girl so deserves a family of her own. If you are looking for an older, easy dog, who will love you unconditionally....she is the one for you. Please go to www.rosieanimaladoption.org and fill out an application to meet her.

She sure does . I haven't had the opportunity to meet her yet...she's staying with fosterpat and her family but, I've heard nothing but the loveliest things about her. I sure hope a deserving family finds her soon .

I'm guessing about 65lbs, not too much bigger than Penny. Fosterpat might be on tonight or tomorrow so she'll be able to give more details.

lol, grace looked at quincy like she was figuring out how much smaller she would be. Now she's saying we can turn the bedroom into a doggie room.

If the dogs are already sleeping in it, then it is a doggie room . They're just kind enough to share it with you .

Hi Lp, thanks for posting Amber for me.
Amber weighs about 70 lbs. Not a tall dog, goes up to about my knees and i'm only 5 foot 2. Has loss weight since her pups have left.
She's a great dog and my kids and I are very attached to her. My son sneaks her into his room at night so she can sleep beside him. She will make a lucky family a wonderfull new addition to their household. She soooo easy!!!
I'm off....just remembered that I have to be up early with other young fosters that are not quite as good as Amber in letting us sleep until dawn!!
Good night everyone.

Yes, Amber looks sad but that's only cuz she needs a home to love her forever.

I love my beer and sale flyers too but there wasn't any doggie beds in mine.

Funny, that's what everyone say's...that she looks sooo sad. Impossible to get a picture of her not looking that way. She's a real suck and milks it for the camera. She's a quiet dog in the house. Loves going for walks...pulls a little though, especially when she see's a squirrel, still working on that. She tends to ignore all the dogs in our house. Doesn't play with them....prefers the quieter ones. But then again, she's had several litters and was very protective of her pups. Has recently been spayed and had a panel of blood work done to make sure she was healthy. So probably a lot to take in, in just a few months.
Don't worry Aslan, no pressure on my end to adopt her. Just needed more exposure. That's why I asked lp to post her here for me. Older dogs are more difficult to adopt out in general and this is our first that had puppies come with her. So now she deserves a great home just like her pups.

ADOPTED!!!
Sorry, forgot to update this thread. Amber got adopted on Jan.2nd, by an older lady that lives alone. She is sooooo in love with her. Although she told me that she never allowed a dog in her bed. The last photo I received of Amber in her new home. She was lying.....in her new owners bed....god, they really rule our world don't they!!
