Help. Zebra finch baby
Hi, don't know if this is a shot in the dark but i have a problem. I
have zebra finches and recently a baby was born. The parents kept kicking it out of the nest in a very premature stage. BUt the baby was still alive when i found it on teh floor. I picked it up and put it back on the nest. Parents fed it, after few days it was back on teh floor. The parents didn't want to care for it. Its been 2 weeks and the baby is still alive under my care, but it looks very premature. Its eyes are fused, and whats very weird is that it has a huge bulbous transparent sack on the back of it's head. Its extremely large, as big as the rest of the bottom of it's body. Its eyes are stilll fused i think, its large, black and has a transparent layer over it. Its feeding whenever i feed it, and its also excreting regularly, which seems normal. Is this baby deformed? Please help me out, thanks. |

I'm no expert on birds here ok! But most times when an animals kicks an offspring out of the "nest" there is something wrong with the baby. Survival of the fittest type of thing. I would strongly suggest you find and experts on avian medicine.
