Best way to feed/transition puppy?
The fosters have been feeding my puppy Eukanuba puppy, so I bought a small bag to feed for the first few weeks until Belle adjusts to her new home. Once she's adjusted, I want to transition her to different food. Petey currently eats Nature's Variety raw patties and a little Innova EVO RM, along with some carrots, apples, greens, etc. Both Nature's Variety and Innova EVO RM say that they are all "all life stages" food, so can be fed to puppies. I'm wondering if it's okay to transition a young puppy to these or if I should get the Innova Puppy food instead and use that for the first several months before eventually transitioning to the "adult" food It sounds like the NV or the EVO RM should be fine according to their "all stages" claim, but I'm wondering about the protein levels. They are quite a bit higher than most puppy food bands. It would be very convenient to be able to feed both Belle and Petey the same food! But only if it's the right thing for Belle of course. I'd greatly appreciate any advice on this!

I think the EVO would probably be ok since she is a small breed. I personally would probably go with a regular puppy food at least for the first few months. I tried the Innova with Riley but it never worked very well for him (not great poops) but his brother did well on it. I personally would prefer something with a few less protein sources in it. Timberwolf foods and Canidae are also considered all life stages foods that I would definately consider. Also, I believe that Orijen makes a great puppy food.

I'm so sorry for taking so long to repy! I'm visiting my parents this weekend and have limited computer access this weekend.
Hazel, thank you sooo much for bumping back to the top!!! Belle comes home in exactly two weeks!!! Can't wait!!!!  Rainbow, thanks for posting the link to info on Belle!
