More likely it's just genetics. Our dogs are all on Innova adult. They're all English Setters. I brush their teeth daily. Some have pearly white teeth; some have tarter but no gingivitis and require cleaning every few years; one has bad enough teeth that she requires annual cleaning.

I've heard some people say that a raw diet that includes bones keeps the teeth whiter and in better shape, but I've seen dogs on that diet that also have bad teeth.

So I'm guessing it has a lot more to do with genetics than with diet...but of course I've never done a scientific investigation
