Put away any of his toys, just for a few days. Instead, for wholesome and "quiet" entertainment, as Gail P suggested: get your pup some nice chew bones.
Generally they heal quickly, so while it's important to monitor the progress, it will pass soon and he'll be ready to get back into his old routine with you.
