what would increasing the thiamine level in a kitties food do?

Just curious what other's think ... what would increasing the thiamine level in an 18 year old kitty do for him? Would it help with a weight problem thst has existed for years? would it help his eyesight? would it have other positive effects on his health or be too much of a good thing.

I have been giving my Sam who is 18 yrs old a supplement only available in the US for several months now and it seems to have improved his health ... BTW Sam was diagnosed with mild CKD several years ago... anyone have an opinion on this?

The supplement is made by Vetri-Science and only available through vets in the US and Canada
