For what it's worth, I think your DIL made the right decision. Saddle thrombosis is indeed very serious, and even if a recovery is made (typically not that common), there are huge risks for it happening again. So sorry that she had to go through this but at least she was able to help her furry friend. It's also totally normal that she is second-guessing her decision. She made it out of love for her kitty, and that's never a bad thing.
