Because Thiamine is not stored in a cat's body and can cause some pretty severe symptoms when a cat becomes depleted of it. It helps the nervous system, including the heartbeat rates. If somebody has bought cases that were on the recall list to feed their cat over the next few months, it could be serious.

I am surprised that they are not telling people to return it to the place it was purchased from .
