If it is a virus, then antibiotics will not help, the kitty has to fight it on it's own. Was he not eating anything at all and finally ate something this morning? If so, that is good news and sounds like your kitty may be on the mend. Did the vet give subq fluids daily when your kitty was vomitting and not eating? Dehydration can make a kitty feel worse when they are sick. I would ask the vet to do some if he/she hasn't already.
