I have a beautiful 8 year old husky-sheperd-terrior mix that needs ACL surgery. My vet has put her on metacam for pain and inflammation. She appears to have a sensitive stomach and is now throwing up all both her morning and evening meals. The vet has recommended I give her 10 mg of Pepcid AC to see if that will help, but it came back up with her breakfast.

My question is, 2 part....does anyone know of an anti-inflammatory that is easier on the stomach, and I'm wondering if I should switch her diet. Maybe cook her rice, or give her toast until I can get her surgery done.

She is scheduled for a consult August 2 and will hopefully have the surgery done within 2 weeks of that. My delay is money (I'm a single mom with a kid that needs braces and another that needs to learn to drive...ya know the scenario). Anyone know of a group that assists with this kind of thing? I live in the Waterford, MI area.
