New research shows a dog in the family may provide kids with health benefits. Now, that's not on the bed, just in the house with the rest of the family. But I have no problem with a dog on my own bed, ethically, morally, healthwise or anthing else you can think of. My dog is not allowed up till he is invited. This was easy to teach, simply pushed him off when he jumped up without an invite and he understood in a couple of days. Now he will look at me, look at the bed (only when I'm in the bed) and clearly ask to come up. Therein lies the hardest part of this training, ignoring those beseeching eyes. I doubt children could handle it, it was and still is hard enough for me.
